Bram Keast – Patchwork Filigree

Gouache on watercolour paper
11×11″, 2019

Bram Keast is an visual artist drawn to the unstable nature of visual imagery and its potential for continuous reinterpretation. His recent work explores themes of slowness and a sense of being unmoored, working through moments of confusion and ambiguity where form emerges through a state of disconnect that blurs impressions. Combining a rough and textural surface with flat minimalist colours, his work distills and condenses the passage of time and momentary impressions of space into seemingly familiar shapes and patterns. He lives and works in Winnipeg.
